The article (published on page 18 of the magazine) analyzes the technological transition of Evolutis Group, a specialist in the production of joint prostheses. Faced with growing demand and the significant physical wear and tear associated with manual processing, the French company chose to automate the process by relying on Arcos.

Arcos technology for finishing orthopedic implants
The robotic cell developed by Arcos performs the delicate operations of heavy deburring and mirror polishing, both internally and externally, on four different ranges of cups (the hemispherical components of hip prostheses), managing over forty different sizes with reduced cycle times.
The system guarantees extremely regular material removal and highly repeatable action, covering and correcting up to 95% of mechanical processing defects and improving the sphericity of the component itself. Working in a continuous cycle, the system eliminates operator fatigue and easily tolerates the high temperatures reached by the metal during friction.
